MillaG5 suggests that you use Key Security deposit form when you hand over a set of keys to the cleaner.

We suggest that you deduct £15.00 from your first one or two payments to the cleaner as a Key Security deposit. The amount is refundable on the return of the keys to the client.

You are advised not to hand over your keys until this deposit has been paid, and not to refund it until the keys have been returned.

I acknowledge receipt of the client’s keys and I undertake to return them promptly when I finish working. I understand that my £15.00 deposit will be returned in full upon returning the key in person to the client. I further agree and accept the following:

1. I accept I am not allowed to post the keys direct to the client’s address for security reasons, unless expressly stated to do so.
2. I understand I should not write the client’s address or telephone number on the keys or on their key holder or on any item near which the keys will be kept) for security reasons
3. I understand that after I finish working for the client, failure to return the keys to the client or the agency, means I lose my deposit.
4. I understand that failure to return the keys (or loss of the keys) will make me personally liable for the cost of replacement keys and/or locks
