5 Green Cleaning Recipes You Can Use Right Now

Green cleaning, eco-friendly cleaning, natural cleaning, whatever you call it, they all mean cleaning with natural ingredients or creating your cleaners using those. It may be as simple as using vinegar in a spray bottle, or something as complex as the blending of ingredients for household cleaners.

Best Green Cleaning Recipes  that You can Use

Using White VinegarWhite Vinegar

Distilled white vinegar is one of the most affordable, versatile and easy-to-find cleaning products you can use. You can use it on glass, floors, dishes, stains, fabrics, bathroom tiles and so much more. Use it in its pure form or diluted with baking soda or water.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is another one of those everyday pantry staples you can find in a pinch. It’s fast to use and easy to buy, inexpensive and ubiquitous. Many of the recipes for green cleaning combine white vinegar and baking soda in a duet of cleaning power. Make use of it as often as you need to.

Castile Liquid Soap

Castile Liquid Soap is a common enough ingredient in a lot of green cleaning products, originally made using olive oil. It typically has no fragrance, so it’s a great solution for people with sensitive skin. You can use it to make laundry detergent, soft scrub, face wash, homemade dish soap, dishwasher detergent, household cleaner and even toothpaste.

Borax

Borax is one of the different ingredients on the list, but it may also be found in a lot of natural cleaning stores. Even though it’s natural, you should still make sure you avoid eye contact and undiluted skin contact, as well as ingest it. Most of the recipes out there utilising borax tend to use it in a diluted form, making it a useful natural alternative to more chemical-heavy cleaners.Essential Oils

Essential Oils

The use of essential oils for organic cleaning products is another great way to approach the issue. You can mix them up with water and vinegar for a powerful combination, they can purify and put a scent in the air. A small essential oil diffuser can be a great way to do that, and you can use it for small rooms. There are many oils to choose from, such as the following:

Lemon oil can be a highly refreshing and common scent we’re all familiar with. It’s often used in green cleaning products. You can diffuse lemon oil to keep odours out, or you can add a bit to the green cleaning recipe of your choice. It gets the job done easily and it’s unobtrusive in your everyday life.

Orange is similar to lemons, providing a nice and fresh boost to cleaning your home. You can diffuse the orange essential oil to purify your air and give it a nice, fresh orange scent. You can also use it to freshen up your bathroom or even kill mould in the bathroom in its undiluted form.

Eucalyptus essential oil is a powerful, minty fresh scent that chases out any stale odours. It’s often used in a variety of throat medicines as well, providing a stimulating, rejuvenating boost to your everyday activities.

Lavender essential oil is a perfect choice for cleaning due to its mild and relaxing scent. You can add it to your laundry as a booster, as a way of refreshing your carpets, or you can simply diffuse it to chase away any stale odours in your rooms.

Tea tree oil is a wonderful essential oil used for skincare and cosmetic products, something also used as a natural cleaning ingredient due to its powerful anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. You can use it undiluted or diluted in water.
